Reading Length: 5 minutes
I just wanted to share a productive day in my life under lockdown for the past year. So here’s an overview of my day:
5:30AM : Wake up and do skin care routine.
So my pleasantly annoying guitar alarm rings at 5:30AM and I shoot out of bed, maybe stumbling a few times, you know, typical waking up stuff. I then drink a cup of water next to me. When I finally get to the bathroom, I do my usual skincare routine and cringe at my pimples on my face. In case any of you guys miraculously believe I have good skin, here’s a list of products I’ve been using:
- ETUDE HOUSE SoonJung 10 Free Moist Emulsion 120ml
- ETUDE HOUSE SoonJung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser 5.1 fl. oz. (150ml)
- [KLAIRS] Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil,make up cleansing oil, cleanser, 150ml
- Vaseline Lip Balm for Instantly Soft Smooth Lips Crème Brûlée Lip Balm
5:45AM: Yoga and podcast.
I play an educational podcast in the background and jump right into yoga. Since I just woke up, my body feels like a deformed pretzel. I already have a list of podcasts I would like to listen to.

6:00AM: Make breakfast.
I go to the kitchen to make the first and most important meal of the day! My favorite breakfast is avocado toast. I love to pair the avocado with “Silver Hills” bean sprouted bread. Super healthy, nutritious and easily digestible unlike other breads. I also brew a cup of coffee. Dark roast, no sugar , no milk because I’m a lunatic.
6:30AM: Have breakfast and read.
I finally enjoy my avocado toast while I do some reading. I’ve been re-reading “Dot-Com Secrets” by Russell Brunson. As you can tell, lately I have been obsessed with learning more about content writing. I just wanna spoil you guys with good content!
7:00AM: Take a walk.
I bundle up, looking like an Eskimo because it feels like Antarctica here lately. I finally head outside to take my morning walk. During my walk, I meet up with my fellow Squirrel friends. They bribe me with their cuteness and leech off of my food. After that, I just let my mind wander.
7:45AM: Quick exercise.
I honestly hate this part the most but I know it’s necessary for my productivity, health and focus. I do my usual short work out routine. It consists of jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, and crying from pain. I sound like I’m in labor.
8AM: Start doing my most important activity.
At last, I do my most important activity of the day which is writing up content like all the previous blog posts you’ve read. I get so in the zone to the point my mom could literally stick something on my back and I wouldn’t notice. I also finally allow myself to drink that coffee I brewed because I always time it at 8am when I’m going to do important work. But then I realize it’s too cold and I regret my decision.
9:30AM: Take a break.
After 1 hour 30 mins of deep work, I tear my eyes away from the screen and take a break. I put in some eye drops because I’m not trying to have dry eyes like my skin. During my break, I clean up the place a bit and eat again. I’m always hungry.
10:00 AM: Next most important activity.
After my break, I jump into my next important task which is YouTube video filming. I always struggle to set up everything and memorize what to say. I do hundreds of retakes because my memory sucks. If I were an actress, I’d be fired for sure.
11:00 AM: Spanish accountability call.
I call up my Spanish accountability partner to practice my conversation and speaking skills in Spanish. It’s pretty much a whole hour of me speaking worse than a toddler.
12:00 PM: Learn healthy recipes from mom.
I observe and learn some cooking recipes from my mom in the kitchen. And I attempt to model after what my mom showed me but fail horribly because I’m a chicken when it comes to fire. She ends up doing 99% of the cooking.
12:30 PM: Have lunch while watching Spanish shows.
During lunch time, I watch some Spanish shows to practice my listening comprehension. But I’m still a toddler level so I need English subtitles. Side note: please recommend me some good Spanish shows if you guys know any.
1:00 PM: Walk outside while listening to audiobook.
After lunch, I feel like a bloated balloon so I need to take another walk outside. I listen to an audiobook as I walk. I’ve been listening to “Digital Minimalism” by Cal Newport. This time I walk another path to avoid those cute and distracting squirrels.
1:30 PM: Exercise and dance.
After I come back from my walk, I feel warmed up enough to do my aerobic exercise. I open up a few dance cardio videos and embarrassingly follow along. I look like those flailing balloons you see at the car wash. Here are some of my favorite dance channels:
3:00 PM: Accountability calls.
I chat with my accountability partner about self development. We chat about our personal goals, weekly progress and feedback to one another. I also call up another accountability partner but it’s more specifically about YouTube and blogging goals. I highly recommend finding an accountability partner. I found my partners on a accountability partner Reddit forum. But avoid the weird people on there please.
4:00 PM: Guitar playing.
I relax with some guitar playing and singing. My neighbors are blessed with my loud singing. My family wonders why I haven’t tried out for American Idol or The Voice yet (just kidding).
5:00 PM: End of day routine.
I start my end of day routine by first doing some YouTube and blogging research. Afterwards, I journal about my day. I write about what I had accomplished, what I failed to do, and how I can improve. And then I plan out my day for tomorrow.
6:00 PM: Dinner with mom.
I place my phone in another room and just enjoy dinner time with my mom. We chat for a long time.
7:30PM: Watch Netflix show with friend.
After dinner, I spoil and treat myself a little by watching a Netflix show with my friend using TeleParty. Of course, I practically forced her into watching a Spanish show with me. I’m lucky she still wants to be my friend.
8:30PM: Shut down ritual.
I begin my self-care shut down ritual. I brew a cup of peppermint tea to compensate for my coffee addiction. I stretch and practice to do some splits but I fail horribly. I go shower, do my usual skin care routine and decompress with a facial mask. But my face is too big so I need to stretch it out a little. I enjoy a warm foot bath, drink tea and then end the night with some reading.
By the time it’s 9:30pm, I’m ready to sleep!
